VinoZen Mindset
thoughts
“Humanity has this undying thirst for limitless elevation to standard of living. Be it material or spiritual, we either blindly, subconsciously or consciously embark on this journey. Being the way we are, we are always trying to find ways to explore, define, and develop our interests and passions for our way of life.
Wines and Spirits are one of those rare passions that encompass almost every discipline in every time period. Such magical elixirs are a make up of nature, soil, time, and people. It finds harmony in history, geography, culture, art, and science. This is what many people generalize as “Terroir”. When many industry professionals are counting just how deep and complex the make up of these delights are, most often miss out on just how approachable they can and should be.
Wines and Spirits are meant to be consumed. If we drink it for the brand then we are forced to highly value only expensive bottles in order to not lose face. If we drink it for the experience, then we can cherish the purest forms of beauty that last a life time. A world’s view in a bottle with just a cork as the barrier. These beverages are thereafter defined by the drinker’s purpose.
To us, wines and spirits are expressions of celebration of life. They pair well with food, occasion, people, nature, and emotion. They become and should be very close to our hearts. So what we can do is to provide you with different keys to help opening your own door to the world of wines and spirits.”

I recently visited a winery where the architecture, artworks, equipment, famous winemakers, and critical accolades had already told me the wines were exceptional before I tasted a drop.
One $300 library wine gave me a nebula. Most of the others left me wondering whether I was tasting the wine—or the prestige surrounding it.
What stayed with me even more were the worn brochures, spiderwebs, unfinished glasses, and an experience that never quite matched the promise.
This is about what happens when the signal becomes more convincing than the thing it is supposed to represent.
