Using Oak-aging as an inspiration, Amber & Gold is a coming-of-age metaphor about maturity, patience, and becoming whole.
At its core, Amber and Gold is about realizing that time is not the enemy. Time is what gives us depth.

Amber and Gold started from the idea of ageing.
At first, it came more from spirits than wine.
Amber comes from sherry casks: richer, darker, warmer, with dried fruit, spice, sweetness, and a deeper emotional glow.
Gold comes from ex-bourbon casks: vanilla, honey, caramel, brightness, structure, and polish.
But the idea applies to wine too.
In wine and spirits, time changes everything. Oak can add sweetness, spice, texture, structure, and depth. But the best examples are never just about oak flavour. They are about integration. The rough parts slowly become rounder. The sharp edges stop cutting so hard. Everything begins to feel more complete.
That became the emotional core of the track.
Kaia begins as someone moving too fast. She wants to be seen, heard, recognized, and understood. There is talent and energy there, but also impatience. She is sharp, almost glass-like. Bright, but fragile.
Then she hits the wall.
That moment matters because growth usually does not start when everything is working. It starts when the thing that used to carry you suddenly stops being enough.
The Oak Colossal became the metaphor for that process.
It is not just a giant tree or a fantasy creature. It represents time, memory, patience, and everything we slowly become through seasons of pressure, loss, failure, and recovery.
Kaia does not awaken it by forcing power out of herself.
She has to learn how to listen.
That is the real training.
For me, Amber and Gold is not really about becoming powerful. It is about becoming whole.
The line “I’m not afraid of time, I only want it more” feels like the centre of it.
Because when we are younger, time can feel like something chasing us. Later, maybe we realize time is also the thing that gives us character.
It rounds us.
It deepens us.
It shows us what was actually worth keeping.
