Tequila is Mexico's national drink made international. It has massive star power and is enjoyed worldwide—though sometimes regretted the next day. Many have sworn it off, often due to a bad first impression.
Why? My humble take is that people have a lot of fun when Tequila is in play, but perhaps they’ve had too much for the wrong reasons. It is a spirit for the masses and for celebration ("No vino por la guerra, sino por la multitud"), but it’s the purity of the Blanco, the soul of the Reposado, and the depth and complexity of the Añejo that truly elevates the joy of gathering. There's always more where it comes from.
This was a complex yet satisfying song to write, and a fun, energetic video to create. As a Chinese-Canadian, I hope to do this unique multi-cultural representation justice.
